1. Hull and waterline
The hull is usually cleaned once a week or when necessary, depending on the water quality of the yacht. Special marine cleaning fluid can be used to clean the hull, but pay attention to the product instructions when using, because some cleaning fluids may affect the coating on the bottom of the ship to prevent marine organisms from adhering.
2. Porthole glass
Special glass maintenance products, such as rain-x, can be used for the porthole glass of yacht. This product has the cleaning and waterproof effect, can penetrate into the glass pores, form a surface protective film, and provide clear vision. It can prevent water droplets from leaving traces on the glass, and keep the glass window clean every day.
3. Cushion
Keep the cushions in the open air as dry as possible. When not in use, it can be wrapped in a padded cover or placed vertically in the storage compartment. In the rain or after cleaning the yacht, the cushion will generally be wet, at this time, as far as possible to wipe off the moisture on the cushion to keep it dry. If the cushion is dirty or stained, it can be cleaned with a special cleaner.
4. Canvas
You can use warm cleaning solution to clean. In places with wrinkles, such as buttonholes, some salt will accumulate. You can apply Vaseline after cleaning and apply it every 120 days. Transparent plastic windows can be cleaned with water and dried with a soft cloth. When rolling up the window, pay attention not to cause scratches, do not let the window keep rolling for a long time, which may cause discoloration, roll up in the daytime and put down at night. The place with zipper is also easy to gather salt, which can be cleaned with warm cleaning solution every 120 days
5. Hatch cover on deck
There is a groove under the hatch cover on the deck to collect and discharge the water flowing into the gap of the hatch cover. After each washing, all hatch covers on deck shall be opened, grooves shall be cleaned and dried. If it is not used for a long time, open the hatch cover once a month and wipe the sealing strip on the hatch cover with warm cleaning liquid.
6. External latch
The locks of storage cabinets on deck shall be kept clean, tidy and dry to prevent mildew. After each washing, the external storage cabinet should be opened and dried. The articles in the storage cabinet should be kept dry and put in order. Empty the cabinet every 120 days and clean it thoroughly. All external door locks, latches and hinges shall be kept clean, dry and replaced annually. Bolts and hinges are lubricated every 6 months for protection.
7. Yacht exterior cleaning
Whether the yacht is cruising or berthing at the wharf, it will be contaminated with stolen goods, dust, bird droppings, and the salt crystal layer left by the evaporation of sea water splashing on the yacht. These substances have a certain destructive effect on the surface gel coat of yacht. Therefore, after using the yacht, clean it with fresh water every time. If it is not used for a long time, it should be cleaned at least once a week. When cleaning the yacht, choose the appropriate cleaning fluid according to the actual situation of the yacht. Wipe the surface of the yacht by hand. If it is not dirty, just rinse it with fresh water and dry it. Neutral cleaning products specially designed for yachts should be selected when selecting cleaning fluid. Improper cleaning fluid may reduce the life of gel coat or spray paint. The yacht should be cleaned from high to low, from bow to stern. Because most yachts are designed with this kind of drainage line. After cleaning, it is very important not to let the cleaning liquid or water remaining in the hull dry in the sun. The residual cleaning fluid will make the hull dirty quickly, and the residual water will usually leave water spots that are difficult to remove. Therefore, after each cleaning of the hull, the application of fresh water to clean the hull and quickly dry the hull.
8. External hardware
Although the stainless steel parts of yacht are designed for offshore use, they still need a better wax layer protection due to the harsh marine environment. Stainless steel parts should be waxed every 60 days or as needed. High quality wax film can resist the erosion of sea water, increase glossiness, and make the future maintenance easier.
9. External electronic equipment
When washing the ship, all external electronic equipment / buttons and control console should not be washed with water, otherwise the internal electronic components will be damaged. It can be wiped with a wet cloth. Every week, all electronic equipment should be turned on for at least half an hour to remove moisture from the circuit.
